On Sunday 7th May, Formby British Legion held a presentation for all the Poppy Appeal helpers throughout the years.
The presentation was held at The Gild Hall. Awards were presented to over forty people who continue to help The Royal British Legion Formby Branch with it’s Poppy Appeal events, organization or collections.
The Awards were presented by Christine Bradford, the Community Fundraiser for The Royal British Legion County of Merseyside and West Lancashire. Branch Certificates were presented and also certificates and medals depending on years of service. This included 5yrs, 10yrs, through to 65 years service inclusive!
A spokesman from The Royal British Legion Formby said: "We would like to thank the public for their support raising over £16,000 for the Poppy Appeal in this area last year. Although the Formby Branch no longer has it’s own building, it continues to thrive, maintaining fundraising throughout the year and organising remembrance events in the area."
