A new lease of life for Formby Model shop

New owners of Formby Model Shop in Gores Lane have vowed to give it a new lease of life. After 37 years of trading in our Bubble, the previous owners of Formby models, Christine and Roy have now retired and sold the shop to long time employee Phil and his wife Brenda (pictured above).

Brenda and Phil are very enthusiastic and plan to relaunch the popular traditional model shop with a new website and branding on the 29th of April. Phil has been working at the shop for 8 years and now has the opportunity to shine his own fresh ideas into the shop.

Formby Models already sell radio controlled drones, cars, aircraft, helicopters, boats and motorcycles. They also supply model railway enthusiasts from starter sets to extra track and rolling stock. They have a fully functional workshop to carry out repairs and to build models of all types.

Phil said: "Our aim is to continue to supply the modellers out there and give them the very best experience and customer service possible. It's very easy to buy online these days but, you miss out on the joy of going to the shop and selecting that special model and being able to hold it in your hands and get advice before you make that purchase."

The shop has proved to be very successful over the 37 years in Formby and used by many local residents as well as many people coming from much further afield to shop there and get that personal advice and service.
