Formby company wins multiple awards

Formby company wins multiple awards at the UK Grower of the Year Awards. Porters Fuchsias is a family run bedding plant nursery, based on Southport Old Road in Formby who supply hundreds of garden centres across the UK with quality plants under their new 'Happy Plants' branding.

More than 300 professionals from the UK production horticulture industry gathered in London's Covent Garden on 23rd February to hear the names of the winners of the UK Grower Awards 2017 revealed.

The winners who were presented with their trophies at a glittering awards event at the prestigious Grand Connaught Rooms, were selected by an independent panel of expert indstry judges from this year's crop of entries from leading UK ornamental, fruit and vegetable growers, and associated production businesses.

Happy Plants™ won the Award for Consumer Marketing Campaign - Porters Fuchsias, Home of Happy Plants and also the Award for Top Sales or Marketing professional - Natalie Porter, Porters Fuchsias. Presented by Perennial.

Natalie Porter from Happy Plants said: "Completely overwhelmed to have won two awards last night! Firstly with our Happy Plants branding being announced as the Best Consumer Marketing campaign across the whole industry, then being awarded Top Sales & Marketing Professional of the Year!

Porters Fuchsias has been supplying a range of high quality pot and bedding plants since its formation in 1985. Whilst they built their name on fuchsias, their experience extends to a whole host of plants which they supply throughout the year to Garden Centres and other Nurseries and including all the flowers ordered by Formby Parish Council for Formby Village and all from their 5 acre site in Formby.

Porters Fuchsias has undergone significant changes and in 2016, they created Happy Plants™ – a new garden centre brand with an emphasis on the quality, presentation and long term performance of their stock.
