Merseyside Police and Fire service attended a van that blew up on a Formby street

Merseyside Police can confirm officers are investigating following a van fire in Formby on Saturday 11th February 2017.
Officers were called to St Anne's Path at around 7.35am to reports of a white Renault van was on fire.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended with one fire engine and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. There are no reports of anyone being injured.
A Formby resident said: "There was an explosion because it woke me up and then I saw the van an hour later."
Officers are working alongside the fire service to establish the cause of the fire but it is believed to have been started deliberately.
CCTV from the area is being examined, house to house enquiries have been carried out in the area and the van will be forensically examined.
