Children's Mental Health Week 2017
Sefton Council is supporting Children’s Mental Health Week (6-12 February).
Hosted by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, the theme this year is 'spread a little kindness’. Moving schools, struggling in class, bullying, trouble at home – children go through tough times just like anyone else. When children feel supported by peers and grown-ups, they are better able to deal with difficult transitions.
Cllr. John-Joseph Kelly, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Safeguarding said:
“While we cannot always change the circumstances of children and young people, a small gesture such as listening to their concerns, offering a helping hand, or just telling them how much we appreciate them – can make a big difference. Children’s Mental Health Week is a good opportunity to focus minds and ask ourselves if we can do more to support the mental well-being of our children and young people."
