Over £300,000 raised at Marina Dalglish Grand Ball in Formby Hall

Over £300k was raised at this year's Marina Dalglish Appeal Grand Ball, all of which will go to help Cancer sufferers and their families on Merseyside. 400 guests attended the event in grounds of Formby Hall, the home of The McComb Family. The evening, hosted by Kelly Cates (Dalglish) took on a Parisian Theme with a massive Eiffel Tower in the centre of the bar. The fabulous Swanband, who flew in from Geneva, provided entertainment and kept guests partying until the early hours of Saturday morning. Guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal with French fine wines followed by Scottish pies at midnight, which were specially requested by Kenny: Mary Queen of Scots was married into French Royal family! Make-up artists from Givenchy were on hand throughout the evening to offer complimentary make up services for the guests. Volunteer hostesses for the evening were Donna's Dolly's, who are former patients and staff from The Marina Dalglish Centre and dedicate their time to support the Appeal throughout the year. Star auctioneer, Jonny Gould, took centre stage to raise money for prizes, which included a Range Rover Evoque Convertible, Meet & Greet with Olly Murs, and money-can’t-buy experiences kindly donated by Liverpool Football Club. Boodles continued their long-standing support of the MDA by generously donating a £10,000 Raindance ring as the top Raffle prize. Special guests at Ball were some of the patients who attend The MDA Retreat at University Hospital Aintree, who are all looking forward to attending the newest MDA breast cancer support centre, Larks, opening in October. Marina Dalglish said, "Kenny and I never cease to be amazed at the generosity and commitment of our supporters who continue year after year to overwhelm us with their kindness. We would like to thank them all!”
