Formby Post Office has delayed it's opening until next week
The main Post Office shop on Brows Lane in Formby was due to open it's doors today at 1pm butunfortunately, they are now unable to reopen as scheduled. They are now working towards reopening early next week. They have apologised for any inconvenience this has caused.
The Post Office will open a newly modernised main branch at Formby Post Office, 68 Brows Lane, Formby. The Post Office in Formby village closed on Wednesday 12th October to undergo modernisation and refurbishment, plans which have been delayed from the origional planned June revamp.
When the Chapel Lane branch re-opens, which we have now been told is early next week, it will have four counter positions including three screened fortress positions and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter.
This branch will from then on be open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. The opening hours which will increase by an extra three and a half hours of Post Office service on Saturday afternoon will offer more choice of times for customers to visit. The new-look Formby Post Office will be delighted to welcome customers to the newly refurbished branch. Local residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including international parcels, Special Delivery, Local Collect and home shopping returns, make cash withdrawals from a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, buy holiday money, get insurance, mortgages and savings and top up mobile phones. As the traditional banking network declines, customers for the majority (99%) of UK banks can use their post office for online banking cash deposits and withdrawals and bill payments.
Julie Kemp the Post Office area manager said: "We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and to collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs."
She went on to say "This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in our hisory".
