Cleaning National Trust Formby Beach
National Trust Rangers Lou and Rob were thrilled when a group of Formby High students and staff offered to help them clear litter from National Trust Formby beach today (20/07/16).
Lou said “ the beach was in quite a state on Wednesday morning after the mini heatwave of Tuesday, there was litter everywhere”.
Out of the blue, The Formby High students gave up their morning of sport on the beach and pitched in to help in the clean up.
Rob said, “their help was unexpected and invaluable and between them they collected dozens of bin bags of litter. Thank you all so much, you are all stars.”
Lou also praised the help given by National Trust volunteers and some of the regular “doggy walkers who also grabbed bin bags and litter pickers to help us. It makes such a difference to us and the site .”
National Trust Formby is always looking for more willing hands to help keep the beach, dunes and woodlands clean and tidy.
