Sports Stars of Sefton - Formby has winners in four categories

Sports stars from across Sefton were invited to the 2016 Sefton Sports Awards ceremony on July 13 at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre. Attended by some of the top names in sports the winners announced during the night were:
Primary School Winner: St Edmund’s and St Thomas’ Catholic Primary School
Secondary School Winner: Formby High School
School team of the Year: Greenbank High School - Junior Swim Team
Team of the Year: Southport RFC 1st XV
Young Volunteer of the Year: Twins, Emma & Rebecca Clark – Formby Swimming Club
Volunteer of the Year: Joseph Doran - Bootle FC
Lifetime Achievement: Bill Redman – Waterloo Judo Club
Junior Female Sports Personality of the Year: Caitlin Proctor
Junior Male Sports Personality of the Year: Bobby Mitton, Hesketh Golf Club
Disabled Sports Personality of the Year: Rachel Choong
Female Sports Personality of the Year: Rachel Choong
Male Sports Personality of the Year: Michael Hoare - Formby hockey club
Richard McGrath Positive Futures Award: Daniel Davies
Coach of the Year: Dave Graham – Formby & Crosby Table Tennis Club
Club of the Year: Southport RFC 1st XV
Supporter of the Year: People First Sefton
