Filming for a television series promoting the coastal archaeology of England to take place on Formby
CITiZAN, the coastal community archaeology project, are holding a short recording session on Tuesday the 28th June on the remains of the Formby Point Lifeboat House during which volunteers will be taught archaeological field skills such as scaled drawing and site photography.
This will both allow volunteers to learn new skills and create a current archaeological record of the lifeboat station.
The dates are Tuesday 28th June, meeting at 2.30pm in the Lifeboat Road car park to be on site for 3pm and finishing off at 5pm.
During the recording session volunteers will be filmed for a television series promoting the coastal archaeology of England; by taking part in this programme volunteers will be strongly contributing towards raising the awareness of coastal archaeology and the effect of tidal erosion on it, two strands at the heart of the CITiZAN ethos.
