Job Title: Early Years Nursery Assistant
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Temporary in the first instance
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of our new high quality Nursery, within Redgate Community Primary School. The successful candidates will show a commitment to working with two and three year old children and their families.
Redgate is undergoing a period of rapid change. We are looking for passionate, driven and dedicated members of staff to share our vision, where children are achieving through a highly challenging and nurturing learning environment.
The highly motivated individuals will have experience of working within an Early Years setting and hold an Early Years NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent. They should be dedicated to their continued professional development.
The candidate fulfilling this position will be required to compile files of evidence against the EYFS framework under the role of a key carer, as well as contributing to both long and short term planning. The post will be working under the direction of the Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will:
Have a secure knowledge and understanding of EYFS framework and be responsible for observing, recording and contributing to children’s learning journeys. They should also have the capability to use these systems to inform planning.
Recognise the importance of both indoor and outdoor continuous provision. They must be competent to plan and facilitate high quality learning experiences, through both adult and child initiated play.
Have a sound knowledge of child pedagogy, applying this understanding to their teaching. i.e. group phonics.
Enjoy the outdoors and nature. They must also be enthusiastic, proactive and dedicated to the development of our outdoor provision alongside the Early Years Lead.
Be a team player but also forward thinking and competent to use their own initiative.
