Viking Voices at Formby Library this Wednesday

Come and listen to Viking Voices calling form our distant past. The theme for the next talk, held at Formby Library, is Norse Mythology.
'Viking Voices' is a historic novel that explains how the Cuerdale Hoard, the largest treasure ever found in Western Europe, came to be buried in the bank of the Ribble, and why it was left there to be found centuries later. Sefton's coast has very strong connections to the Vikings - Formby village has Norse origins and is in fact a Norse name.
The author, Vincent Atherton, shares the results of his research into the mysterious world of the Norse myths. Who are Odin and Thor? Where is Valhalla? When will Ragnarok occur? What effects have the myths had on recent modern thinking?
The talk starts at 2pm on Wednesday, May 11 and places are free but booking is essential. To secure a place please phone Formby Library on 01704 874177 or email: Formby.Library@sefton.gov.uk
