Formby Ford could be a 40-Bed Residential Care Home
Plans have been submitted and validated to Sefton Council for the erection of a part two and half, part two and part single storey 40-bed residential care home with associated external works and landscaping after demolition of existing car dealership and workshop buildings at Formby Ford of 105-107 Church Road Formby Liverpool L37 3ND.
The building was originally two three story semi-detached houses. The first garage was built in 1958 and then extended in 1983/4. It was converted into the car showroom on the ground floor with living accommodation on the first and second floors.
If the plans go ahead, the Formby Ford building is to be demolished.
The proposal says it is to create a bespoke new-build care facility that offers the highest level of accommodation available locally.
According to the application, the proposed scheme will:- 1 - Be an appropriate use in a predominately residential area. 2 - Be a positive regeneration value on a site that has remained underdeveloped for years. 3 - Provide employment for staff who are likely to be local residents.
The proposed development comprises the erection of a 40 bed residential care home. The expected staffing levels at the proposed care home equate to 30 full-time staff and 10 part-time staff.
We have been informed that if the plans are passed, the work will not commence for at least twelve months. We will keep you updated on any further developments.
