The Walk of Witness The Formby Passion - Good Friday
Jerusalem comes to Formby Village this Good Friday -
25th March.
Crowds will gather on Good Friday 25th March by Boots in Chapel Lane for Churches Together’s annual Walk of Witness.
At 11.00am Jesus will arrive in Formby. He and his friends will set off down the Village to the Swimming Pool Gardens. On the way he will encounter various characters from the Scriptures who are all looking for healing. Everyone involved in the Passion drama is drawn from local churches and the wider Formby community.
At the Pool Gardens, there will be a short outdoor service with an address from Rev. Anne Taylor, vicar of St. Peter’s church. Then the out-door stage will be set to re-enact the events of Jesus’ last hours.
The story will be told through music, costume and drama starting with Jesus’ arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, his crucifixion and death on the cross. The final scene brings the joy of the resurrection.
Last year over 800 local people lined the route cheering and waving branches of greenery. A fantastic event for our community.
All are welcome.
