Formby man convicted of taking knife to scene of row

Formby man Paul Range has been convicted of taking a knife to the scene of a row, he was also found guilty of assaulting a man by punching him in the face, the jury has still not reached decisions on charges involving stabbing two other men.
The jury of nine women and three men has been sent home until Tuesday when they will continue their deliberations.
46-year-old Range, still faces charges of wounding Mark Brady and Michael Arnold with intent and lesser alternative charges of wounding them.
Sarah Holt, prosecuting, said: “the defendant’s case is, having gone to the flats to complain about the noise, he was confronted and assaulted. He denies being in possession of the knife and his case is that he acted in self-defense at all times.”
“The Crown say, he went there in a fit of temper, armed with a knife, intent on attacking those he found there.”
