Ainsdale beach is set to re-open to cars from today - Good Friday
Sefton Council is set to re-open Ainsdale beach car park today - Good Friday, March 25th. The car park has been closed to public vehicles since October 1st last year as part of a cost-saving measure due to the reduction in Government funding for the council. Ainsdale will however close again to vehicles a few days later due to high tides.
People visiting the beach can buy a parking season ticket for the Summer 2016 season which is valid at Formby Lifeboat Road car park, Ainsdale beach car park and Southport beach car park.
Only Formby, Ainsdale and Southport are designated bathing beaches and the Keep Britain Tidy’s Seaside Award recognises and rewards beaches in England that achieve the highest standards of beach management.
You can buy a beach parking contract for the 2016 summer season from 25 March. This is valid for parking at Formby Lifeboat Road, Ainsdale Beach Car Park and Southport Beach Car Park only.
This costs £45 for a car or £80 for a minibus or horse-wagon/trailer. The quickest and easiest way to get buy yours is to use the online beach parking form https://forms.sefton.gov.uk/beachparking or by calling Tel: 01704 533 333.
