Local woman to do 240 mile cycle ride to raise money for the Liverpool Women's Hospital Kings Fu

One of our readers is doing a 240 mile cycle ride, which she hopes to complete in three days, from Cork to Dublin to raise money for the Liverpool Women's Hospital Kings Fund.
Read her story below;
My name is Abbie, I'm 26 years old, from Crosby and currently working in Formby as a childminder looking after 4 children!

Last July I cycled 300 miles from London to Paris to raise money for cystic fibrosis - it was such an amazing experience and even better to have my Mum, Dad, Nan and Grandad waiting at the finish line for me!

Shortly after we got home from Paris my Nan fell poorly with chest infections and a bad stomach - after a couple of months she was eventually diagnosed with ovarian cancer which had spread into her abdomen & lungs. Soon afterwards she started receiving weekly chemotherapy at the Liverpool Women's Hospital. The staff were so good and dealt with her so well, they were so kind to her that she actually enjoyed going for her treatment, enjoying catching up with the staff and other patients!
Sadly at Christmas she passed away quite suddenly, leaving our whole family totally heart broken. It was then I decided I needed to keep her memory alive and raise awareness for the great job the Liverpool Women's Hospital were doing, so I decided to join onto another bike ride, this time cycling 240 miles in 3 days from Cork to Dublin.
Another reason I decided to raise money for the Liverpool Women's Kings Fund (specifically aiming towards ladies being treated for cancer at the hospital) is because around the time I lost my Nan, my good friend Kayleigh was also diagnosed with a rare women's cancer and has since been receiving chemotherapy at the Women's, which is just about coming to an end, curing her of cancer and saving her life!
I begin my cycle ride on May 18th - It won't be the same not having Nan at the finish line but the memory of her waiting under the Eiffel Tower last July will get me through this ride!
Up until my Nan got poorly I didn't even realise that there was a cancer unit at the Women's let alone the fantastic work they're doing!
I'd like to raise awareness for the Women's as well as raising funds and keeping my nans memory alive!
