Has Formby Bubble found our mysterious 'Loch Ness Monster' ?
One of our readers Steph sent us a message yesterday with a photograph of what looked suspiciously like the much loved Loch Ness Monster having a fine old time swimming in our very own Formby Sea. (Please see above photo)
We have had various suggestions as to what this could have been, from Nessy visiting us on her holidays to old branches floating in the water.
We cannot confirm what exactly it was that Steph saw, however we do know the identity of the 'object' spotted in the next photo. Could this have been the 'monster' that she witnessed yesterday?
This is, in actual fact, Colin Whiteman, who is training for a Triathlon.
He told us that he doesnt normally start his training until April, but because the weather has been so mild of late, he talked himself into starting early this year!
He added " I swam from the Lifeguard Station to the wooden post on the left and back, which comes to just under a mile. It's cold for the first few meters, but you get over that after a while!"
Well done Colin! We wish you all the best in your competitions and hope to see you training again soon.
