Wartime bomb discovered near railway.

A wartime bomb has been discovered near the railway at the bottom of Pall Mall in Liverpool, causing disruptions in the area.

An eyewitness from the University Building on Pall Mall has reported that their Building has been closed and the Road is cordoned off by the police.

Merseyrail have announced disruptions to its service this afternoon:

The Northern line is disrupted - Disruption is expected until 14:00 14/03.

Cancellations to services to Hunts Cross Due to a wartime bomb near the railway between Sandhills and Moorfields.

Impact:Train services to Hunts Cross may be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Liverpool Cntrl Northern. Disruption is expected until 14:00 14/03.

Alterations to services from Southport Due to a wartime bomb near the railway between Sandhills and Moorfields .

Impact:Train services from Southport will be suspended between Sandhills and Liverpool Cntrl Northern. Disruption is expected until 14:00 14/03.
