Every March, thousands of people across the country join together to get behind the Great Daffodil Appeal and raise money for Marie Curie Nurses. By collecting, donating, shopping or doing something they love, they’re supporting people living with a terminal illness, and their families.
Marie Curie Formby shop manager Vicky Hall and her husband David have already been out collecting this year at the Tesco Supermarket in Formby and raised £1,428.73. They will also be organising the Formby Street collection on Friday March 11 and Saturday March 12, and have placed 130 daffodil boxes in local shops and businesses.
Vicky said: “I just love collecting and helping to raise funds for such a brilliant cause.
As a Marie Curie employee I know what a difference the money makes to our patients and their families, which is why I do my bit to help during the collections, it’s still not too late to sign up, we still have the Formby street collection, and Lady Green Garden Centre coming up, as well as lots of collections in the surrounding areas.”
Community Fundraiser for Formby , Antony Jones, said: “We are calling on the people of Formby to get behind the daffodil in March for the 30th annual Great Daffodil Appeal.
Help us raise more money than ever before by simply giving a donation and wearing a Marie Curie daffodil pin. Every penny donated helps Marie Curie Nurses provide free care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.”
