Internationally acclaimed artist and photographer Ian Beesley to speak at Formby Photo Group Meeting

IAN BEESLEY - GUEST SPEAKER – 17th MARCH 2016
The guest speaker at the Formby Photo Group meeting on Thursday 17th March will be Ian Beesley.
Ian is an award winning and internationally acclaimed artist and photographer who, in his day job, is course leader for the MSA Photography course at the University of Bolton.
In addition to exhibiting nationally and internationally, examples of Ian's work are held in collections as far afield as the National Media Museum, Bradford, The National Museum of Labour, Helsinki, and The Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC.
Awarded an Honorary Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society in 2012, Ian specialises in social documentary photography. He has published several dozen books covering subjects as diverse as coal mining in one of the last remaining pits in England – The Drift; and a record of Bradford City FC's first season in the Premiership – Claret & Amber in Black & White.
Ian's talk on 17th March is entitled Social Documentary Photography. The meeting will commence at 8.00pm and the entrance fee (£2 for non-members) will include refreshments.
