Young boy confronted with a burglar in Formby after three burglaries in one night
A nine year-old boy was confronted with a burglar walking around his house last night in Formby.

Merseyside Police is carrying out house to house enquiries and reassurance visits in the Paradise and Wrigleys Lane area of Formby following three burglaries that are all believed to have happened between 6pm and 9pm yesterday - Thursday 25 February.
A Formby resident spoke of how her nine year-old son found a man walking around her house. The burglar, who had entered through the front door of the house fled the scene when he saw the young boy.
The Formby resident said: "Please can you get the message out there to tell people to lock their doors. I just don't want anyone going though what my poor little boy did."
Officers are now asking householders to be vigilant and to report suspicious activity either by calling the non-emergency 101 number or by calling 999 in an emergency.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “If possible, set timers on lights, set your alarm and check your doors and windows are locked. Most thieves are opportunists and will use garden tools and items taken from unlocked sheds and garages to break into houses.
“We work in close partnership with the local Homewatch and if you are interested in joining a scheme or setting one up you can email Sefton crime alert or leave a message on 0151 777 4144 and someone will get in touch with you.”
