Break-In at My Local in Formby village

At 1:55am am this morning - Thursday 25th February, there was a forced entry to the front of the My Local supermarket on Chapel Lane in Formby Village.

Two thieves used a brick and bodily force to gain entry through the front window of the store. They jumped over the till counter but, were frightened off when the My Local Security system set off a 'Flash Fog' deterrent and the shop filled with smoke.

The thieves quickly left empty handed.

It did look as though there was a fire inside the shop because the shop floor instantly filled with smoke to flush the thieves out.

The thieves did not manage to get away with anything because of the fog deterrent and nobody was hurt.

MY Local has remained open for business as usual today and the shop front will be repaired as soon as possible.
