Formby Argos helped donate over £3,000 worth of toys to Barnardo's appeal
The Argos Toy Exchange raised over half a million worth of toys this year

There were 273 bags of toys donated from the Formby and Ormskirk Argos stores combined to Barnardo's appeal, worth almost £3,300.
In total, the Argos Toy Exchange raised £550,000 - vital funds that go towards disadvantaged children in the UK.
Regional Director of Barnardo’s, Lynn Perry said: “Our partnership with the Argos Toy Exchange has been a huge success, raising £2.5 million pounds. The sales of these toys will enable us to work with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the UK, including care leavers and children living in poverty. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the area who has taken part and donated their pre-loved toys to Barnardo’s. These vital funds will be helping vulnerable children locally."
The Formby store and the Ormskirk shop in Wheatsheaf Walk had over 46,000 bags of donated toys collected in total in the six-week appeal.
Head of Corporate Responsibility for Argos, Amy Whidburn said: “We know that the money raised can have a real impact in supporting Barnardo’s vital work and we would like to thank our customers for their generosity in raising £2.5 million over the last four years. As a family retailer, we are delighted that the money raised is going to help support some of the most disadvantaged children in the local area. ”
Well done everyone that took part in this amazing appeal.
