Formby Waitrose launches annual Music Matters campaign

The campaign focuses on community bands, musicians and orchestras applying for funding help from Waitrose and the John Lewis Partnership

Formby Labour councillor Nina Killen receives the cheque for the Formby Schools Parking Pledge from Waitrose Community Matters partner Colin Pierce.

Formby Waitrose is hosting its yearly Music Matters event to give financial help to local music groups.

The campaign focuses on communities across the UK, with bands, musicians and orchestras receiving help by Waitrose.

Winners will receive a helpful grant of between £500 to £3,000.

Waitrose and the John Lewis partnership aim to help specific musical events or projects that make an outstanding contribution to the musical life of the local communities.

Music Matters offers these projects help with musical equipment they need, or with funding for events and production.

It is a community project which brings people together musically.

To apply for a Music Matters grant, pick up an application form from Formby’s Waitrose.
