Be Active Returns for February Half Term

Young residents of Sefton are set for a super half term of events, sessions and fun as the popular school holiday programme, Be Active, returns.

Following a frightful twist in October, the team have decided to get back to good old fashioned sports and games for the first programme of 2016, with the launch of the new February Fun and Love Friday’s sessions along with the return of the much loved academies and workshops.

February Fun will see children take part in a number of enjoyable and challenging activities, such as obstacle courses, adventure games and dodgeball before finishing off the week celebrating with games, face paint and an inflatable bouncy castle at the Love Friday's event.

For the aspiring performers, treading the boards of the West End is the theme for the new Dance Workshops with Oliver and Shrek the musical providing the inspiration. While those mini reds and blues can learn new skills and emulate their heroes at the Football Academy.

Alongside the fun on dry land, those more amphibious youngsters can try their hand at host of water based activities, including raft building and bell boating at the Lakeside Adventure days or swim and splash with discounted swim sessions.

Cllr Ian Moncur, Sefton Council's Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “I am absolutely delighted to launch the first Be Active programme of 2016.

“Be Active is hugely popular with young residents across the borough and provides a fantastic opportunity for them to learn new skills in a fun and safe environment.

“I look forward to seeing another half term of packed out events.”
