What do you want the new Wetherspoons Pub to be called?
Wetherspoons has agreed not to name their new pub in Formby The Crown Green following a number of complaints.

When Formby resident Dominic Dickson heard that the pub chain was to call their new pub The Crown Green, he wrote a letter of objection to Wetherspoon's chief executive John Hutson.
Wetherspoons has now had second thoughts about the name of the pub on the site of the former Conservative club on Three Tuns Lane. The company is now open to alternative suggestions.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “The names of our pubs are very important. If people in the area believe that we have not chosen a name in keeping with the new pub in Formby, then we are happy to listen to their suggestions."
He went on to say: “Hopefully they will let us know of some suitable names and the reasons for them and we will be able to choose one of those names for the new pub.”
We think a great name might be 'The Natterjack' after the very rare Natterjack Toad found in Formby or maybe the 'Jimmy Lowe' after the famous asparagus farmer from Formby or maybe even 'The Lighthouse' after we lost our lighthouse landmark many years ago.
The former Conservative Club was given the go-ahead last year for a new Wetherspoon pub to be built on the site and £150,000 to be spent creating a new club on the first floor which will be named The Formby Club.
Work has already started on transforming the building in Three Tuns Lane into a JD Wetherspoon pub with a two storey rear extension and covered canopy. The former bowling green is to be transformed into a family beer garden.

The name is already on the Wetherspoon website as The Crown Green in Formby but, they will obviously change this soon.
