Event at Gild Hall raises money for Cancer Research UK with £800 donated last year

Fashionistas from throughout Sefton will be flocking to Formby a week on Tuesday for M&Co's Charity Fashion Show.

The show, which has the backing of Sefton Central MP Bill Esterson, is being held in aid of Cancer Research UK at The Gild Hall on Church Road on Tuesday, December 15, starting at 7.30pm.

M&Co's Formby store manager Sue Budworth said she hopes people will support the charity event.

Sue said: "M&Co's annual Formby fashion show for Cancer Research UK always gets a lot of support. We raised more than £800 at a similar event last year. We have another really great evening lined up next week.

"Money raised on the night will be going to a great charity which does fantastic work.

"I know lots of people will come along and support us and Cancer Research UK."

Sheila Leathley is the main organiser of the event.

Sheila said: "Cancer Research UK is a charity which is very close to lots of people's hearts and we get people supporting our charity fashion show each and every year.

"The fashion show is a little later this year with it falling just before Christmas. So it is the perfect excuse to come along, start Christmas early and get all your festive fashions while supporting a great cause all at the same time.

"I look forward to welcoming everyone in on the night."

Bill said he had no doubt the evening will be a success.

The M&Co Charity Fashion Show in aid of Cancer Research UK will be held at the Gild Hall on Tuesday, December 15, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £5 (£4 concessions) and available in store.
