Have you bought an advent calendar this year for the kids? Even if you have, this idea is really good fun to do anyway - Why not make a Christmas Advent Jar? (You could make it an adult one, depending on what you write on your notes!)

Advent Jar Calendar

Sometimes the simple ideas are the best! This advent calendar jar also works well alongside a chocolate advent calendar...fill it with interesting things to do and pull out a different one each day.

You will need:

A glass jar Stickers and pens

24 slips of paper

Instructions:

• Decorate the jar.

• Fill the jar with 24 folded slips of paper. You could have activities or jokes on the slips or whatever you want.

• Pull out and read a slip every day!

Christmas Tree Advent Calendar

This Christmas tree advent calendar is fun to make with your youngest children - and they will love sticking the brightly coloured pompoms on each day!

You will need:

Green card Backing piece of card Small dot circles Pom poms Glue

Instructions:

• Cut a Christmas tree shape from the green card.

• Glue to the backing card.

• Write the numbers 1-24 on the stickers, and stick them to the tree.

• On each day of Advent, glue a pompom on top of the correctly numbered sticker.

• By Christmas Eve your tree will be fully decorated!
