One Hundred Today...

One hundered years. Joe lived alone and managed well. Everyone said so.
How come?
Joe listened to ghost voices: his mother saying, 'Waste not, want not.' 'A place for everything . . .' 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness.' And his father saying, 'You take care of the pence and the pounds'll take care of themselves.' 'Early to bed and early to rise . . .'
He heard the voices of his teachers, his priest, his boss. All dead now, but still obeyed.
Then, he rebelled, when his school friends said, 'let's have some fun.'
They found him drunk in the garden before his blazing house.
