FRANK'S REPORT 16/11/15 16 Nov, 2015
Heavy rain, strong winds and an extremely bad weather forecast for last weekend meant no football for nearly all our club members. The already saturated pitches could not take a weekend of expected heavy rain so it was decided to cancel Inter Club on Saturday. In addition all the Craven Minor League matches were postponed including the Under Nine’s Tournament at Edge Hill University on Sunday. The West Lancs Girls’ matches also succumbed to the weather but the FJSC Girls’ teams surprisingly played their Hightown League fixtures on Sunday morning so thankfully I do have something to report. FJSC Under 12 Jets played S. and B. Rangers Yellow. The Jets conceded a goal after ten minutes. Playing some excellent football the Jets were not deterred by this early setback and grew in confidence. By half time the Jets were on level terms. Two further goals after the interval gave Jets a very good 3-1 victory. Liberty Murphy, Josie McIver and Beth McMahon- Bell scored one goal each in what was another very encouraging team performance. The Jets have played six matches and have steadily improved as their results illustrate. The first two games were lost- the next two were draws and the most recent two matches have produced two wins. Manager Darren Gowling said, “ It’s a testament to Inter Club and the training the girls receive.” Also in the Under 12 Division FJSC Under 11 Rangers and FJSC Under 11 United played two Under 12 teams and although losing both showed great determination in their matches with Litherland Remyca and Maghull. Erin Denison and Lily Hall played well for FJSC Rangers as did Freya Thornton for FJSC United. FJSC Under 10’s Albion kept up their one hundred per cent record. It is now six wins from six games played. FJSC Under 10’s Real also won with goals scored by Ava Lewis, Bo Price, Jess Lynch and Chloe Price. Real’s opponents were FJSC Under 9 Hotspurs. Sarah Allmark scored much to the delight of her team. All the girls played very well. CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Grace Rooney and Holly Rimmer who are both attending weekly coaching at Everton’s Centre of Excellence.
