A crash on the Formby Bypass caused delays for drivers yesterday morning

A four-vehicle crash on Formby Bypass caused chaos for morning commuters driving from Southport to Liverpool yesterday morning (November 13).
The crash on the Formby Bypass, just after RAF Woodvale, caused heavy congestion southbound, as police and ambulance services attended the scene.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "The ambulance service were on the scene first, and they alerted us at 8.07am.
"The crash involved four vehicles and significant travel congestion.
"As of 8.50am, traffic seemed to be returning back to normal again on the Formby Bypass.
"The bulk of the damage appears to be to a Ford Transit van."
One lady said "It took forty minutes to get from Ainsdale to Formby, the traffic build up was that bad."
The ambulance service and paramedics were called to the scene, but a spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said there were no serious injuries and no one was taken to hospital for treatment.
