Formby Junior Sports Club Under 13 United had a very convincing Liverpool County FA Round One Cup win against Seneley and Garswood. Bryn Macy and Cameron Sergison scored hat tricks. There were also goals from Matthew Williams, Jenson Finn, Gerard Casterton, Josh Smith, Sean Jones and Oliver Shaw. Man of the match was Michael Nixon. Matthew Frackelton opened the scoring for FJSC Under 17’s in the match against Jaguar Whites. Rob Barlow made it 2 nil scoring from a low drive from twenty yards. Man of the match goalkeeper James Haines made some very good saves as the Under 17’s showed great determination to hold on to the lead. Jamie Malone worked tirelessly in midfield and with wing-back Ben Shellien making powerful runs Jaguars were made to defend. Striker Jonny Birchall deserves special mention for his energy and pace. In the second half Ben Shellien scored with a twenty–three yard sizzling shot to secure the 3 nil victory. FJSC Under 13 Whites gained a very good 7-2 away win at Southport FC. Josh Steele and Max Cowen-Carr scored hat tricks. Kian Fortune added a further goal. Man of the match was Michael Hughes for an impressive right wing display. FJSC Under 14 Girls gave a good account of themselves but lost 5-3 away to Burnley Girls. Charlotte Doyle gave FJSC the lead with a well worked goal. Ellie Brewer scored a fine second goal after a flowing counter attack. As both teams toiled on a very tiring muddy pitch Burnley forged ahead. Anna Rutherford scored the third goal. One of the highlights of the exciting match was a brilliant reflex save by FJSC goalkeeper Olivia Mulvey. FJSC Under 13’s tried hard but lost 6 nil to league leaders Academy. Lauren Carr had an excellent match in defence. News in brief for the younger mini soccer matches. A Ewan Davies hat trick was just enough for FJSC Under 11 Blacks to keep the undefeated run in tact. The match against Ormskirk was a thriller. FJSC Under 9 ‘s tried hard but a late flurry of goals were conceded against Redgate Yellow. Jake Bellemey, Oliver Mercer, Oliver Charnock and Daniel Green all played well. Corey Ashworth was the man of the match for FJSC Under 8’s in the game with Southport Trinity Blue. The two FJSC Under 7 teams had good results. The Whites scorers in the match against Southport Trinity Blue were Dilan Sathiyanathan, Connor Daulby, Luke Lewis, Finlay Hunter and Finn Bauer. Ivan Weights made some great saves in goal and man of the match was James Savage. The Whites good run of form has now extended to five games unbeaten. Thomas Dent and Liam Kirk scored the goals for FJSC Under 7 Blacks in the match with Town Green. Man of the match was Aaron Rymill. Despite it being still the half term holiday nearly two hundred children played Inter Club matches last Saturday morning. The coaching sessions also took place and were once again very well attended. A number of new children also came along for the first time and all did very well indeed. The girls’ scorers were:- Isabella Moore, Maria Byrne, Mariana Mathias, Hollie Campbell, Mollie Morris, Megan Hulse, Kiera O’Rourke, Florence Raikes, Jessica Duncan, Leah Naylor, Holly Rimmer, Harvee Hindley, Yasmin Godsall, Madelaine Houghton, Lily Hall, Chloe Horner, Jessica Mordaunt, Liberty Murphy, Erin Denison, Rebecca Cain, Lily Hamilton, Freya Walsh and Molly Graham. FJSC WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS Dominic Baines, Kyle Ward, Florence Raikes, Harriet Tunley and Mollie Morris. INTER CLUB NEWS All coaching and matches will start at the usual times on Saturday 7th November. Please arrive ten minutes before the start time and give your names in for the register. New members in all Inter Club age groups are most welcome. Year One/Two Girls- from last Saturday when looking up appearances on the website you will find the Year One girls under Bobcats and the Year Two girls under Terriers.
