The Mastermind behind the Liverpool Zombie Walk, Zombie Paintball, Zombie Laser Tag, the Overlord of Doom himself: John O’Brien brings a brand new event to Formby this Halloween.

Having worked in the scare industry for almost a decade, for three of the UK and Europe’s most prominent and influential scare attractions, winner of several “Best Scare” awards, Horror Expert and the creative power behind some of the sickest scare attractions that you could ever experience, John has put together an event uniquely imagined and unforgettable experience for Unite Martial Arts Academy in Formby.

John tells us, “I’ve always been a big fan of horror since a child. I grew up with Hitchcock, King and Hammer House movies and my love for the genre grew and grew. I’ve taken my passion for Halloween and things that go bump in the night beyond just decorating my house for Halloween and my experience of working in the haunted attraction industry encouraged me to submerge myself into every aspect of the design, production, concept, direction and execution. I create original new experiences that you won’t find anywhere else and I look forward to showing you a whole new world of horror.”

When we asked John what to expect he replied, “Our early evening experience has been specially designed to please families with young children and to encourage a love and admiration for this type of event.

As the sky darkens so does the level of entertainment with the mid evening experience operating at the calibre experienced from most other popular scare attractions.

But, after dark, when the Moon is high in the sky our strictly over 18 experience is designed to throw you into a nightmare scenario, push your boundaries and wreck your sense of reality…

Three nights of terror awaits from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November. Groups of friends will walk through a maze filled with zombies and surprises! Due to the intensity the late night walk throughs will be strictly 18+ only.

There are walk throughs earlier in the evening (appropriately toned down) for 10 to 17 year olds. And there is even a ‘happy, fun’ walkthrough late afternoons for 4 to 10 year olds.

A number of groups of parents are already planning ‘his and hers’ nights out for the walk through, followed by a few drinks at the local pubs to recount the experience and calm the nerves!

Children must be supervised by parents/guardians at the event and can accompany their children during the walkthrough, if they like.

The walkthrough will be hosted at the Unite Martial Arts Academy on the Mayflower Estate, which will be transformed for the duration of the event, from the normal fully equipped and matted Taekwondo training halls!

The total experience (including entertainment whilst waiting for the walk through) is expected to last for about 40 minutes to an hour including the walkthrough, which will take around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how fast you run!

Spaces are limited and tickets are selling fast. The event is being put on at considerable expense so this may be a one-off chance to enjoy this level of Halloween experience so close to home!
