New LFC manager and his wife spotted in Formby

Formby man John Pattenden says he was 'made up' to chat with LFC's new manager Jurgen Klopp who was reportedly house hunting in the exclusive area

A Liverpool FC fan spotted new reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp house hunting in Formby.

Local resident John Pattenden, 57, and his wife Melinda were out walking with Golden Retriever Cassi on on Three Tuns Lane when they bumped into Klopp and his wife Ulla.

John said: “I was made up to see him. I’m a massive Liverpool fan.

“He was telling us they were house hunting and asked what the area was like - I said it’s great, especially if you have a dog.

“He told me they have a dog and had heard about how beautiful the beach is here. His wife was stoking Cassi as she chatted to my wife.

“It seems like he’s settling in perfectly - mixing with the locals. They chatted to us for quite some time. They were in no rush and seemed genuinely interested - they’re a lovely family.

“I hope he’ll bring us Liverpool FC some good luck - we certainly need it.”

John says he hopes to bump into his potentially new neighbour in the future.

Saturday afternoon’s house viewing in Formby came after a trip to Liverpool’s Kirkby academy where he watched the under 18s team beat Stoke 1-0.
