THE FORMBY branch of the National Association of Woman's Club recently celebrated their 25 year anniversary. The club, who meet each Monday at the Luncheon Club on Rosemary Lane, marked the momentous occasion with a special dinner and service with all 60 plus members. As well as celebrating their quarter of a century birthday, the National Association of Woman's Club also turns 80 this year, so members really pushed the boat out for their double anniversary commemorations. Letty Forshaw, Club Secretary said: “We had a wonderful celebration evening, I am privileged to be part of this club as it marks this momentous occasion. ”We are always looking for new members to join the club, and as this is a special year for us we are encouraging other women in Formby to join the club. “At it's peak, we had more than 90 members and it is slowly decreasing so we want to boost that number. ”We have a one off membership fee and we organise a range of activities and days out for people to enjoy. “It would be great to welcome some new faces to the club, it is a great place to make new friends and learn some new skills.”
If you are interested in joining the Formby Women's Club, they meet at the Luncheon Club on Rosemary Lane each Monday evening at 8pm.
