FRANK'S REPORT 28/09/15 28 Sep, 2015

Last weekend four Formby Junior Sports Club teams won their first league games of the season. The successful teams were the Under 17’s, Under 16’s, Under 13 Whites and the Under 12’s. FJSC Under 17’s gained an excellent 4-3 away victory at Southport and Ainsdale. After going a goal down Patrick Staunton, Robert Barker, Sean Groom and Tom Barrett all scored one goal each in a very good team display. The man of the match award went to centre half Hayden Conning. Captain Tom Barrett had two assists to cap an impressive performance. Patrick Staunton’s debut goal was from the penalty spot following a twelve- pass move from defence into the S. and A. goal area. In the local derby with Redgate Rovers, the Under 16’s produced a much-improved display to record a 5-1 win. Ben Gallagher and Lewis Doyle both scored twice. The Under 14 Girls lost for the first time after two successive league victories. Despite playing well Preston North End proved to be a very formidable team.
