This will be an exciting year for Formby Choral Society, one of the North West’s leading choirs. Rehearsals have just begun for the 120 members for the first concert in their 2015/16 season on 21st November of Bruckner’s powerful Mass in E Minor alongside Cherubini’s Requiem in C Minor, to be performed at Our Lady’s church in Formby, tickets £10, free for U19s.
This will be followed on December 19th at Formby Holy Trinity church by the ever-popular, sell-out Christmas concert, including Formby’s talented Brass Band.
In April 2016 the choir will be singing a varied programme in Holy Trinity church, comprising Puccini’s breathtaking Messa di Gloria as well as Mozart’s superb Missa Brevis and Shearing’s Songs and Sonnets.
Summer brings popular favourites chosen by the choir to celebrate the end of their 50th season, with a welcome reappearance of Formby Brass band.
More information can be found on the choir’s website at
www.formbychoralsociety.org and tickets for all concerts can be purchased via the website or at Gifts In House, Chapel Lane Formby.
New members of the choir are always welcome, practices take place every Wednesday evening from 7.30 – 9.30 in Formby Holy Trinity Church hall.
