No busses for Formby residents for two weeks

Ryeground Lane from New Road through to Southport Road will be closed for two weeks from 28th September. Sefton Council are carrying out carriageway resurfacing until 9th October.

This will effect hundreds of Formby residents are going to be left without access to any busses for at least 2 weeks because the busses are not going anywhere near the location. Instead, most of them are going Cross Green and then through Altcar Road to the bypass and rejoining Formby near the BP.

Routes 44, 47, 162, 165 and X2 are affected.

Ryeground Lane will be closed, between Church Road and Southport Road, from Monday 28 September 2015, for approximately 2 weeks, between 0900 and 1600 only each day.

Bus diversions are as follows:

Route 44 will travel as normal from Formby Station to Liverpool Road, then via Cross Green, Altcar Road, Formby Bypass, LiverpoolRoad, then as normal route to Crossens (omitting Church Road, Ryeground Lane and Southport Road). This service will return via the reverse of this route.

Route 47 will travel as normal from Crossens to Liverpool Road, then via Formby Bypass, Altcar Road, Cross Green, Liverpool Road, then as normal route to Liverpool (omitting Southport Road, Ryeground Lane and Church Road). This service will return via the reverse of this route.

Route 162 will travel as normal from Formby Village Car Park to Smithy Green, then via Watchyard Lane, Cable Street, Church Road, Green Lane, Massams Lane, then as normal route to Green Lane, then via the reverse of the above to Smithy Green, then as normal route to Formby Village Car Park (omitting a section of Watchyard Lane, Deansgate Lane, Southport Road and Ryeground Lane).

Route 165 will travel as normal from Formby Village Car Park to Smithy Green, then via Watchyard Lane, Cable Street, Church Road, Green Lane, Massams Lane, then as normal route to Green Lane, then via the reverse of the above to Smithy Green, then as normal route to Formby Village Car Park (omitting a section of Watchyard Lane, Deansgate Lane, Southport Road and Ryeground Lane).

Route X2 will travel as normal from Preston to Liverpool Road, then via Formby Bypass, Altcar Road, Cross Green, Liverpool Road, then as normal route to Liverpool (omitting Southport Road, Ryeground Lane and Church Road). This service will return via the reverse of this route.
