Formby Junior Sports Club is open to any children aged between 4 - 17yrs

Here are details of last weeks results.

FRANK'S REPORT 21st September, 2015

Formby Junior Sports Club Under 14 Representative team won their first round cup tie against Birkdale SAC. Man of the match was hat trick hero Owen Highton. Also on the scoresheet with one goal each were Pedro Gomes and Elliot Taylor. Sean Jones gave FJSC Under 13’s United an early lead in a thrilling match with Churchtown Athletic. Ben Adams made it 2 nil just before half time. United failed to add to their lead in the second half and Churchtown scored two goals in a five minute spell to draw level at 2-2. Man of the match was Bryn Macy. FJSC Under 13 Blacks gained a confidence boosting 5-1 cup victory away at Southport FC. Jaime Ditchfield scored a brace. Dan Mitchell, Oscar Thompson and Tom Harrison were also scorers in this fine win. FJSC Under 17’s lost 5-1 to Redgate. Michael Sutch scored whilst Rob Barker, Jamie Malone and Sean Groom worked tirelessly in midfield. Man of the match was James Haines. The Under 12’s also lost to S. and A. Reds. Man of the match was Ben Sudlow.

FJSC Under 16 Girls’ won 7 nil away at Wigan Athletic with Caitlin MacBeth scoring a hat trick. Alivia Hutchinson added two goals to the tally and Molly Barton and Rhianna Meehan completed the scoring with one goal each. Two second half goals from Under 14’s Anna Rutherford was not quite enough to see her team fight back to gain a draw at Hesketh Colts after FJSC had conceded three first half goals. Charlotte Doyle provided an excellent pass for the second goal. Ellie Brewer was a constant threat on the right wing. Stand in keeper Rachel Robinson was outstanding. The Under 13’s lost 3 nil to third in the division Blackpool. Goalkeeper Rachel Robinson was again in action and saved a penalty. Centre back Abby Hobbs was player of the match. The new team is playing better together each week.

FJSC Under 11 Whites and Blacks both progressed to Round Two in the cup. Luke Phillips, Ewan Davies, Dan King, Callum Davidson and Sam Trainor with the goal of the match, all scored for the Blacks. The Under 10 Whites enjoyed success in another very close match with Crosby Stuart Youth. Jake Ritchie, Ivo Melyov and man of the match Luke Honour scored. There were impressive performances from Sam Colbourne and Jack Rummens. The Under 10 Blacks also played Crosby Stuart but despite a brave defensive effort could not keep their opponents at bay. Defender Callum Williams was man of the match. FJSC Under 9’s were overpowered by a well- organised Southport Trinity team. Jacob Heaney scored a well- deserved consolation goal after receiving a great pass from Oliver Mercer. Man of the match was Martin Melyov. At Under 7 level there were mixed fortunes but both teams played well. Connor Daulby scored a double for the Whites with defender Alfie Griffiths man of the match. Liam Kirk, Thomas Dent and Harry Lofthouse scored for the Blacks. Fraser Holloway and Micky Denison defended well.

In the Hightown Girls’ League Under 12 Division FJSC Rangers drew 4-4 with FJSC Jets in a see-sawing pulsating match. Erin Denison netted three well-taken goals for Rangers. Lily Hall also scored. The Jets goals came from Beth McMahon-Bell, Josie McIver, Maisy Hughes and Liberty Murphy. FJSC United lost 5 nil to Dynamo Rangers. Player of the match was Freya Thornton. Also in action in the Hightown League were FJSC Albion, FJSC Athletico, FJSC Hotspurs and FJSC Real. The Inter Club Section was bursting at the seams last Saturday morning with new members joining in every age group. Twenty- five children came along to the Reception section and enjoyed a lively coaching session. This was followed by two exciting matches. Each week the children have improved as they gradually get used to some basic rules. The Year One numbers are slowly improving so if anyone knows any keen boys at this age please ask their parents to bring them along at 9 am next Saturday. The weekly match was end to end and the coaches said how impressed they were with the effort made in learning new skills. The coaching sessions for all the boys from four to nine year olds was well attended. Two matches were also played in the Year Two Division known as Super League Division Three. There were wins for Leopards and Lions. The division’s scorers were Connor Daulby, Liam Kirk, Alfie Griffiths, Finley Richards, Dilan Sathiyanathan, Finlay Hunter and Joseph Cooper. In the Year Three/Four Division known as the super League Division Two there were victories for Hotspurs and Rangers. The division’s scorers were Corey Ashworth, Oliver Buch-Platt, Oliver Charnock, Daniel Green, Jacob Heaney, Ioannis Kardoulias, Martin Melyov, Sam Mycek, Ernie Weights, Jake Bellamy, Gabe Bellamy and Tye O’nchoroge. The Year Five/Six Division – the Super League Division One there were wins for Red Squirrel Rangers, Freshfield Colts and Sandune Rovers. The following nineteen boys scored forty- seven goals between them in the division – Dylan Barnes, Luke Blanchard, Gerard Broomfield, Charlie Campbell, Luke Honour, Josh Horner, Harry Knowles, Jacob Lewis, Conor Leyland, Ben Marsh, Ivalin Melyov, Steven Mordaunt, Luke Plunkett, Matthew Purdy, Jack Rummens, Jack Taylor, Toby Taylor, Marc Whitelaw and Callum Williams. In the Girls’ Section, just like the boys, there are new members joining each week. This now brings the total number of girls playing football at FJSC to one hundred and five! There was a 5-5 draw between the Emeralds and the Opals in the Girls’ Under 14 Inter Club Section. Scoring for the Emeralds were Rebecca Cain, Lily Hamilton and Imogen Murphy. Molly Barton and Penny Fletcher were on target for the Opals. Over twenty girls played in the youngest section for Year One Year Two and Year Three. The group has successfully been split into two groups allowing the girls to develop their skills. Many of these girls apart from playing matches at 11amalso attended coaching at 10.15am as well. Scoring goals in the group were Hollie Campbell, Isabella Moore, Amber Ashman, Holly Foster and Marianna Matthias. The Coaching for the Year Four girls and above was also very popular before the division matches. In the Year Four/Five Girls’ division now called the Girls’ Super League Division Three there was a fantastic drawn match between Magpies and Falcons. This included a last minute equaliser. There was also a Swifts’ victory by one goal after the Owls had led 4 nil in the first half. There are now forty girls in this division. The goalscorers last Saturday were Sarah Allmark, Yasmin Godsall, Ava Lewis, Jess Lynch, Holly Rimmer, Grace Rooney, Neve Thornton, Ellie Todino and Sophia Wright. The new joint league leaders in the Year Six/Seven division – now the Girls’ Super League Division Two are the Dolphins and the Sharks. Scoring the goals in the matches played were – Erin Denison, Lily Hall, Sophie Hall, Maisy Hughes, Yasmin Jones, Simone Jones, Karen Lane, Josie McIver, Beth McMahon-Bell, Liberty Murphy, Mia Shalliker, Freya Thornton and Lydia Warburton. FJSC WELCOMES NEW CLUB MEMBERS The following children all became new members of FJSC last weekend. Dylan Gregory, Harry Nelson, Naomi Stephens, Jack Liptay, Charles Liptay, Chloe Price, Bo Price, Max Cowen-Carr, James Gray, Billy Catty, Heidi Addis, Alice Porter, Joshua Parkinson, Jess Lynch, Sofia O’nchoroge, Tye O’nchoroge, Lilly Lovelady-Lang, Arianna Casson, Nathan Cousens and Thomas Donnelly. INTER CLUB NEWS New members in all Inter Club age groups are most welcome to join FJSC. Year Three and Four Boys at 9.15am Year One and Year Two Boys at 9.30am Year One, Two and Three Girls at 10.10am Year Four, Five and Six Girls at 10.10am Year Seven, Eight and Nine Girls at 10.10am INTER CLUB KICK OFF TIMES All Matches at Deansgate Lane Playing Field Reception at 9.30am. Year One at 9am prompt. Year Two Boys at 10am. Year Three and Four Boys at 10am Year Five and Six Boys at 10am. Girls kick off time at 11am for all groups from Year One up to and including Year Nine.
