Stars Theatre Workshop for children aged 4yrs to 12yrs

Stars Theatre Workshop are an established children's theatre workshop based at Formby High in the Drama Studio and classes run on Tuesday nights.

They run tailored sessions for Primary School children to develop valuable skills and create professional productions whilst maintaining high levels of fun and excitement!

This year there is a Summer Musical and a Winter Showcase.

Due to high demand they've added a brand new class for 2015 and are now recruiting.

Little Stars (Reception to Year 2)

Tuesday night from 5:30pm to 6:15pm

Magic Stars (Year 3 and Year 4)

Tuesday night from 6:25pm to 7:25pm

Super Stars (Year 5 and Year 6)

Tuesday night from 7:30pm to 8:30pm

Stars Theatre Workshop introduces children to theatrical skills, drama games and techniques used in professional theatre training through activities in music, dance and drama.

Based at Formby High School in the Drama Studio, our sessions are themed to appeal to 4 – 12 year olds and involve modern and creative dance, singing and percussion, improvisation and storytelling. Creative art activities, costumes and technical theatre elements are used to engage and enhance the overall experience. As our children progress they develop their knowledge of backstage theatre, working with props, scenery, lighting and sound.

Stars Theatre Workshop was set up in 2008 originally for children in Reception through to Year 2 and has since progressed to a 3-group company providing local children of all primary school ages with the opportunity to devise, create & perform professional musical theatre productions in state-of-the art environments. Whether we’re performing a small end of term piece in the workshop or our annual musical at The Atkinson theatre each child is sure to benefit from our wide range of activities and exercises. All of our students are invited to take part in regular theatrical productions and presentations, both in the drama studio used for sessions and at local professional theatres and festivals.
