GREEN fingered gardener, Jackie Knight, has scored a top medal in a prestigious flower show. Jackie, who runs her own landscaping business in Formby, beat other competitors to win the Best Water Garden title at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. Jackie, who has been creating gardens for flower shows since 1999, wowed judges with her ‘striking rock and water garden' creation. She took inspiration for the design from her front garden and it took her two week to build and complete the final look. Jackie said it can take months to plan and design a garden, and began the whole process back in January 2015. She said: “My favourite part about landscaping and creating gardens is seeing how satisfied my customers are. ”When they come up to me and tell me how I designed there garden years ago and they are still in love with it, that is one of my favourite things. “It has always been a passion of mine because my dad used to be a landscaper as well. ”It can take up a lot of time and requires a lot of dedication and hard work to create a beautiful garden. “The one that we created at Tatton Flower Show had a waterfall and we tried to accommodate wildlife to interact with the garden. ”As well as previous customers returning to the show, another highlight was receiving our glass trophy from Sue Biggs the director of the RHS. “Sadly we will be unable to do Southport Show this year but it is a fabulous show and we will be going to spend a day there to see the wonderful gardens and the magnificent floral marquee.”
