Formby teenager's campaign to save dog with meningitis

Grace Boyd, 18, is raising money to to keep her Beagle, Chase, alive.

A Formby teenager has launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring in donations to help her poorly Beagle, Chase.

Grace Boyd's dog, Chase, who is less than six months old, was struck down by meningitis earlier this month and now requires a six month course of steroids and regular check ups to survive.

As the puppy's young owner doesn't have pet insurance, she is hoping to raise at least £1,500 to cover mounting vet bills and keep Chase alive.

In under two weeks £650 has been donated via the GoFundMe page, as friends, family and dog lovers have got behind Grace's campaign. Now the teenager is urging the local community to help raise a further £850 so she can provide Chase with the medical attention he requires.

Grace says she just wants her little puppy to get back to normal

Grace, 18, said: "The treatment Chase needs isn't going to be. I just want to take all of his pain away from him and get my little puppy back to normal.

"I truly appreciate any donations, every penny and prayer counts."
