THE ROTARY Club of Formby celebrated the appointment of it's first female president in the history of the club. Jan Owen was chosen as the first lady president of the club on July 7 during a hand over dinner at Gustos at the Albert Dock, which followed a day out at the Liverpool Museum. Past president, Oliver Whitaker presented Jan with the President's regalia, and now Oliver will continue his work as Secretary. In turn Jan introduced Peter Connor as President Elect for 2016/2017. Jan said: “I am delighted to be chosen as the first female president for the Rotary of Formby. ”I am hoping that my year as president will be as action packed as Oliver's has been, and I am looking forward to the months ahead. “This is the start of an exciting two years for the Formby club with the planning of some special events for our 50th anniversary celebrations in 2017. ”If you would like to know more about our local Rotary Club, please visit our website or email us at secretary@formby.rotary1180.org. “The club would be very welcoming to any new members.”
