FORMBY First Scout Group have announced they are now saved from closure after a new leader was found for the group. Last month Formby Bubble appealed for a new leader because Formby First Scout Group were just a few months away from being forced to close, as they couldn't find a permanent leader for the colony. The scout group also appealed to the local newspapers. Group Scout Leader, Nick Greenwood said: Thanks to our local newspaper, the Champion, the Beavers from Formby First Scout Group were delighted to be told that new leaders have been found for the colony. “Last month we were sad to be told that the group faced closure in September due to a lack of leaders, but an appeal has now been successful. ”I was overjoyed to tell the colony that new adult leaders had come forward. “Although while the immediate future looks brighter, there are still opportunities for other adults to volunteer to assist as leaders either with the Beavers or the other sections within the group. ”The news was broke at the Groups Annual Meeting and Wet Day, were the Beavers celebrated with a speedboat tour of the Marine Lake and a camp fire on one of the islands.“ Any one interested in learning about opportunities with the Scout Group are invited to contact Nick on 07787 196538.
