Farmaggedon is running a recruitment drive for the latest members of the undead to join their legion of zombies.

The UK's premier Halloween attraction, situated in Ormskirk, promises to bring your worst nightmares to life - but needs to welcome new zombies to the fold in order to make that happen.

Owner Mark Edwards - also known as Farmer Ted - is holding two recruitment days in order to find the next generation of terrifying zombies.

Mark says that despite the fun side to the job, being a zombie can take a lot of dedication.

He said: "There's a lot of training involved. We hold 18 sessions of training and staff are required to come to at least 12, because although it's a lot of fun there is also a lot of health and safety that comes with it.

"Because of the amount of people that we get through the doors, we need a lot of staff.

"Typically we have 130 staff - and as many as 85-90 can be working on one night.

"People who work here tend to be chomping at the bit to come back so each year we have a reunion and the people who want to come back can register their interest, then that gives us an idea of the numbers we need to recruit for the coming season," he added.

Those who are interested in becoming a zombie should e-mail info@farmaggedon.co.uk to receive an recruitment form.

Interview and recruitment days will be held on Saturday May 9 and Saturday May 16 at 11am.

What makes a good zombie? - Mark Edwards gives us his tips

  • Be disciplined: "It's a lot of fun but it's also hard work - you need to be very disciplined and be able to follow health and safety instructions."

  • Be outgoing: "You'll be performing in front of big crowds, you need to be the one doing the scaring not the one being scared!"

  • Think outside the box: "Some people go the extra mile. We often have people wearing their own scary eye-changing contact lenses and some people have even gone as far as making their own teeth!"

  • You must be undead.... of course.

Prefer to be scared rather than doing the scaring?

Tickets for Farmaggedon 2015: Hell on Earth are already on sale, with organisers expecting this ninth year to be another sell-out.

Farmaggedon is the brainchild of Mark Edwards, also known as Farmer Ted. Mark spotted a gap in the market for a Hallowe’en attraction in the UK and thought his farm would provide the perfect location.

The Ormskirk farm of horror has attracted about 300,000 people over the last eight years, and this is set to be its biggest yet with the clown house Psychosis having an extreme make over.

Psychosis is being renamed to Contagion and the revamped barn aims to separate reality from fiction, to create a mind bending experience, that will leave your mind asking questions you may not want to answer.

Forged in Hell, but conveniently located on the B5195 between Ormskirk and Formby , this is an interactive horror experience that puts you right in the centre of the action. You have been warned.
