Merseyside Police is thanking the public for their help in making the 2015 Aintree Festival a huge success. Around 150,000 race-goers attended the event across the festival with each day of the three days seeing good natured crowds and a great atmosphere.
There were no arrests at the event on any of the three days. Superintendent Dave Charnock said: "We saw large number of visitors at the Festival who were able to enjoy themselves safely and savour the unique atmosphere of this very special occasion. "The Grand National has again demonstrated what a great place Merseyside is to host events which are viewed around the world.

"It also has a reputation for being an extremely safe and low crime event, and this has once again proved to be the case with our officers having to make no arrests across the entire festival. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, including those who worked during the event, for helping to make this a such a safe and enjoyable occasion."
