Met Office warn of potential for travel disruption and damage.
Formby is set to be lashed with winds of up to 70mph, according to a Met Office weather warning.
The winds are expected to arrive at around 7pm tonight, and last for 24 hours until 7pm tomorrow evening.
The yellow weather warning predicts gusts of winds from 60 to 70mph, and that the public should be aware of the risk to travel and some damage to property.
The warning reads: “The wind will become northwesterly by Tuesday morning, and although easing for a time, it will become very gusty through the day, particularly near showers. The public should be aware of the risk of localised damage from these winds and for minor disruption to travel.”
The National Trust Squirrel Reserve will be closed all day tomorrow due to a severe weather warning of high winds. They hope to re-open by lunchtime on Wednesday.

The forecast for the rest of the week and Easter is mixed.
Nicky Maxey, spokesperson for the Met Office, said: “The rest of this week and the start of next week is quite changeable, with showery weather and strong winds on and off. “There are some indications that conditions might settle down as we head towards the Easter break, but it’s still a little too early to give a full forecast.”
