The Southport Cruisers did their annual Easter run today to Formby's childrens home, Clumber Lodge for the 30th year. Derek Moss who started the run said he had started the donations thirty years ago when someone he knew was working at the Lodge and suggested the childrens home and we thought it was a great idea and thirty years later, we are still doing it. The Cruisers also do the Christmas run when they donate toys and money to the childrens home.
Today, the thirty year anniversary of the Easter run saw 24 bikes in the parade which drove through Formby Village beeping horns and flashing lights and then continued to Victoria Road to the childrens home.

This is a great event when you see so many bikers drive through our Bubble to take donations of Easter eggs to the kids. All bikers are welcome to join them, they meet up at 11am at the Sands in Ainsdale and ride through Southport Town centre before heading back to Formby. The Easter run is held usually the last Sunday before Easter. There are so many bikes that take part and today, the oldest bike was a BSA Bantam which is 53 years old and given to Kay on her 21st birthday who has since handed it down in the family and now her daughter Helen and husband Colin proudly ride the bike with the Cruisers for the childrens home.

Formby Bubble would like to wish all the kids at the Clumber Lodge Childrens Home a very Happy Easter and also say thanks to the Southport Cruisers for all the money, toys and eggs they give every year.
