The Squirrels Nuts Comedy Club returns to Formby on Wednesday, April 1.

Top comedians Simon Bligh and Kai Humphries will perform at the event at Formby Cricket Club, which will be compered by resident host Brendan Riley.

Simon Bligh

Simon Bligh has been a Comedian for over 20 years. He is a Perrier Award Nominee and former Time Out Comedy Award Winner.

Born in Liverpool, Simon has lived and worked in Tacoma USA, Tokyo and London. He now lives in a small village in North Notts.

Before working as a comic he had many jobs including being a teacher, a karate instructor, a security guard at the Colombian embassy and an actor. He works all over the UK and indeed the world, including Australia, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Mumbai, Dubai, Chile, the Falkland Isles, The USA, Afghanistan, and all over Europe.

He has even been on German and Dutch TV.

He has a string of TV credits to his name, most notably – The Comedy Store (CH5), The Stand Up Show (BBC), Edinburgh Nights (BBC)

Kai Humphries

Kai is a happy-go-lucky, supremely funny and truly loveable Geordie comedian and compere, his infectious enthusiasm and high-octane delivery of genuinely hilarious and delightfully optimistic material has seen him rapidly shooting up the professional comedy ranks.

In May 2010 he recorded his TV debut for Comedy Central’s “The Comedy Store” alongside some of the biggest names in comedy, but barely 18 moths after his very first time ever on stage.

A self-confessed lad’s lad, his disarmingly friendly delivery holds a few surprises – not least his ability to supplement his cheeky banter with a contrasting intelligence in his material. Kai’s mind holds a truly unique and vivid imagination.

Kai is genuinely excited and passionate to share his stories and jokes with his audience and does this in such an engaging and intimate way that it could easily be just a group of mates having a good night out. He is a natural entertainer and judging by the numerous gigs all over the world, Kai is set to have a very successful comedy career.
